OSO Board of Directors Application Process
About the Board:
The Ohio Senior Olympics is run by a volunteer board comprised of a maximum of 17 members. Board membership, ideally, represents all regions of the state. Board members are individuals who have an interest in the games and are willing to share their time and talents to organize and present the Ohio State Olympics each year.
The Ohio Senior Olympics Board of Directors is a working board with each member assisting in the development and operation of the Ohio Senior Olympics. The Board meets monthly, and all members are expected to attend and participate in each monthly meeting. The monthly meetings are currently scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00PM. All meetings are currently held via Zoom.
Term of office:
Board members serve a two-year term. Board terms begin on January 1.
Application process for individuals interested in joining the Board:
Read the Board Member Position description posted on the web site.
Complete the application. The application is a fillable Word document. You may also print the form and complete it.
Sign the application form and submit it to: ohiosrolympics@gmail.com Applications are accepted each year until October 31 for membership terms beginning on January 1.
What happens next?
The membership committee reviews and discusses the applications.
The membership committee recommends nominees to the full board for review and approval at the November Board Meeting. Successful candidates shall be notified by the Board shortly after the meeting.
The membership chair will notify new members of their addition to the board.
Board member terms begin in January of the following year.
