Events

  • 5K Time Trial 

  • 10K Time Trial 

  • 20K Road Race – this event will actually be a 25K due to route and safety reasons.

Registration Information

  • Cycling fee is $70 due at time of registration.

  • Dri-fit T-shirt optional $15. (t-shirts not included in 2024)

  • Registration closes on July 28, 2024 at midnight.

Race Information

  • Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. and runs throughout the day.

  • Please check in no later than 30 minutes before your race time.

  • The course opens for practice at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 8:15 a.m.

·         5K Time Trial starts at Federal and Weimer Road and finishes before the bike trail.

·         10K Time Trial is an out and back from the 5K finish.

·         Cool down is along Barber back to Massie Creek Park

  • 5k course closes at 8:15 am

  • First Riders off for 5k at 8:30am

  • 10k Course closes 15 minutes prior to start.

  • 25k Road Race will have staggered times with men’s brackets first followed by women’s.

  • Timing will be provided by Speedy Feet.

  • The finish line will remain constant throughout all races.

  • A complete list of cyclists, their events, and race order will be emailed to all registered athletes and posted on our website later than 1 week before the event.  This email will also provide the course maps.

  • Riders will start every minute for both the 5 & 10Ks.  If a rider scratches, a ghost rider will start in place of the athlete to keep timing consistent.

  • The 10K will start after a brief break following the completion of the 5K.

  • The 20K will start after a brief break following the completion of the 10K.

  • Cyclists must provide their own bicycles and helmets.  Absolutely no riders will be permitted to ride without an approved helmet.

  • Recumbent bikes are permitted in the 5K or 10K Time Trials, they will be timed as a separate division. Recumbent bikes are prohibited in the road race competitions.

Medal Ceremony

  • The medal ceremony will take place after the completion of events.  Medal ceremony for Time Trials will occur before the Road Race. 

  • Must be present to receive medals. They will not be mailed.

Qualifying for National Senior Games

  • 2024 is a qualifying year for 2025 National Senior Games

OSO Athlete Information

  • All details and events are subject to change based on registration numbers, weather conditions, venue availability, and other reasons. 

  • Withdrawals and no shows will negatively impact brackets and heats.  

  • Absolutely no day-of registration is permissible.

  • Athletes should know and understand the rules specific to their sport. The OSO uses the rules book created by the National Senior Games Association for those sports that are offered at the National Senior Games. Rules for those events not offered at the National Senior Games are those of the official organizing body.
